The site, located in Frimley in Surrey, currently has disused offices which will be demolished.
Demolition work has commenced with construction set to begin in early 2026.
Fully planning consent has already been granted on the site to build 157 new homes, and a further three to be created from the conversion of a Victorian pump house.
Of this site, 15 homes will be allocated for discounted market sale.
“We are delighted to have been able to work with Homes England to complete this acquisition and secure this key site,” said Dan Castle, managing director at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley.

“This will rejuvenate this brownfield site and bring it back into use, creating much-needed new homes for Frimley.”
Simon Herring, development director at Homes England, added: “As the government’s housing and regeneration agency we want to support partners in the public and private sector to unlock strategic housing sites, particularly where brownfield, infrastructure or land projects face delivery challenges.
“Sturt Road is a prime example of this collaborative approach.
“The agency has worked closely with Persimmon Homes to support the sale of the former Mitie offices, paving the way for 160 much-needed new homes.”
